Sheelah Woodhouse

Sheelah graduated as a Physiotherapist from the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine in 1991.  After several years in orthopaedic private practice she discovered Vestibular Rehabilitation which became her primary focus and passion.  She has pursued extensive post-graduate education in the field, including her Certificate in Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2000, Advanced Certificate, and now serves as faculty at the ‘gold standard’ annual vestibular competency course at Emory University.

In 2000, she started one of Canada’s first clinics exclusively dedicated to providing Vestibular Rehabilitation in Calgary.  She joined LifeMark Health in 2006 as the Director of Vestibular Rehabilitation to be able to expand Canadians’ access this specialty service, training and supporting a team of over 150 therapists at more than 100 locations across the country.  


She has a long history of educating the public, as well as medical and insurance communities, about the benefits of Vestibular Rehabilitation.  She is a co-author of the clinical practice guidelines for Vestibular Rehabilitation developed by the American Physiotherapy Association, is Past-President of the Vestibular Disorders Association and is currently involved in a TeleRehab research project with the University of Alberta.  

She moved to Kimberley, BC in 2018 and with her love for skate skiing, hiking, cycling and mountain biking, she thanks her lucky stars every day for being able to live and play in this beautiful mountain paradise!
