Communicable Diseases Protocol

Updated: November, 2022

We continue to request that you self monitor for symptoms of communicable disease and if you have symptoms and are feeling unwell prior to treatment please reschedule.

You can find a Covid19 self-assessment here. If you are waiting on test results or have tested positive for Covid19 within 5 days prior to treatment please reschedule your appointment. =

All clinic staff members will also be self-monitoring for any symptoms of illness.

For reference of applicable symptoms please see below:

Primary: Fever, a new cough, a worsening chronic cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing

Secondary: Sore throat, runny nose/sneezing, nasal congestion, hoarse voice, difficulty swallowing, chills. Sudden or unexplained headaches, fatigue/malaise, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or nausea/vomiting.

If you are unsure if you should attend due to close contact with someone presenting symptoms of communicable disease, please discuss with our Patient Care Team by calling reception.

If it is your first time having a massage at our clinic you will be given a Health History form. This will be emailed to you or given to you in office, and can be filled out ahead of your appointment, allowing for more treatment time.

Once in the treatment room, your RMT will go over Informed Consent. This will be a signed form that reviews the details of a massage and what is expected regarding Covid-19.

We require that all staff and clients wash or sanitize their hands upon entering the clinic.

We require that all staff and clients who enter the clinic wear masks and practice physical distancing when possible, for example in common areas.

Cleaning and sanitizing of all contact surfaces will continue. Hand washing and proper hygiene is practiced throughout the day by all staff members.

As we navigate the Covid19 pandemic we continue to follow guidance from the provincial health officer,

WorkSafeBC, our professional college and our insurance providers. We will communicate any changes of our communicable disease protocol with you as they occur.

We appreciate your cooperation and support. Thank you!
