Staying Supported with Online Physiotherapy

If there’s one thing that we’re all learning together right now, it’s how to adapt. And we’re happy to report that the team at Creekside has seamlessly transitioned to a different way of supporting and staying connected to our patients: Online Physiotherapy.

This means we’re as open as ever, and you can receive your treatments remotely — much like you’d FaceTime a friend, only we use a secure Zoom link to meet with you. Sabrina, our rockstar office manager, has been working full-time from home to help you schedule and set up your appointments, and to connect you with the right practitioner for your needs. We’ve made everything as simple and easy for you as possible, with an electronic consent form and a straightforward booking process.

Thankfully, most insurance companies have agreed to cover online physiotherapy, and we offer direct billing. If you’re curious about whether your provider is on this extensive (and growing!) list, just fire a quick email to Sabrina — who is keeping a current tally — and she’ll let you know: info@creeksidephysiotherapy.ca.

Our video appointments (which are sometimes called telemedicine, or telehealth) typically run for 30 to 45 minutes. They allow us to offer you various resources to self-manage any pain you’re experiencing; education and advice that’s catered uniquely to you so that you can feel your best; and, of course, exercises that you can do at home. Your practitioner will be able to give you demonstrations as needed.

Even during social distancing, it’s as important as ever to us to be able to provide you with the healthcare you need. As your practitioners, we take pride in standing in your corner and being available to help you through physical issues that come up. That shouldn’t have to change just because our circumstances have!

We think this is so important for two reasons. Firstly, taking care of your wellbeing is incredibly important right now. Self-care is a top priority for all of us these days, and that includes working through and easing any pain, discomfort, or mobility issues that arise.

And secondly, by bringing any musculoskeletal or orthopedic concerns to an Online Physio appointment with us, we’re freeing up valuable resources and time on the frontlines of the pandemic, which takes pressure off the medical system. We know it’s important to keep your team informed and will continue to maintain communication with the rest of your medical team as needed.

Interestingly, meeting our clients via video isn’t anything new, and is something we’ve previously employed at Creekside — but now, we’re relying on it more than ever before. (In fact, we just served over 80 of our wonderful patients in one week!)  We also anticipate that we’ll continue to use it extensively even after this current season has passed, because it allows us to connect with our patients all over the Kootenays. We’re actually able to connect with anyone from anywhere in BC, the Yukon, or Northwest Territories, too.

If you’re experiencing any joint or muscle pain, mobility problems, or just want a little extra support and guidance in reaching your health or strength goals, this will be the perfect option for you. To ensure a fantastic appointment, you can set up your device so that the camera faces an open space that you’re able to move around in, wear comfortable clothes, and be sure you have enough privacy to focus. However, we also recommend having someone else around the house, in case of an emergency or any technical difficulties.

To book your spot, or to have any questions answered, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in any of the following ways. We’re here to help!
